Lucas C. Homicz, DDS, FAGD

Dr. Homicz is a second-generation dentist, originally from Peterborough, NH. He graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) from the prestigious Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, in New York City. Dr. Homicz was one of two residents to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the Samuel L. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. After graduation, Dr. Homicz was commissioned as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. He was stationed at the largest military base in Europe located in Grafenwoehr, Germany, and at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington D.C. While serving the U.S. Army he also completed a 15-month tour in Iraq. Since leaving the Army, Dr. Homicz has worked in public health and private practice.
Dr. Homicz moved to Maine in 2012 and lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife, three children, and dog, Jack. When he is not caring for his patients or spending time with his family he can be found coaching youth basketball, skiing at Sunday River, surfing at Higgins Beach, or mountain biking around town.
Dr. Homicz is one of 6% of general dentists in the United States who have achieved their Fellowship in General Dentistry (FAGD) awarded by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He completed a rigorous national exam and well over 500 hours of continuing education to earn this recognition. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Association of Implant Dentistry, the Maine Dental Association (MDA), the American Academy of Clear Aligners (AACA) and Greater Portland Dental Society (GPDS). He pursues various sources of continuing education in multiple disciplines, well exceeding the minimum state of Maine requirements each year. He is an advocate of Spear Education based out of Scottsdale, AZ, participates in the Casco Bay Spear Study Club and spent 2023 traveling monthly to Columbia University for Implantology continuing education.
